She tossed her head as they led her from the trailer into the stockyard. Horses and people were everywhere, and the palamino filly wanted nothing to do with this place. Her handlers led her into a pen, and tied her to the railing, leaving her surrounded by strange horses and strange people. Stardust nickered and pulled back a little before realizing the rope just wasn't going to loosen up. With a heavy sigh, she decided to watch the people around here. Maybe one of them would take her home soon.
The bright sunlight reflected off her golden coat. Her mane and tail were very light cream, almost white. Many beautiful horses surrounded her, in all colors, shapes, sizes and breeds. She was grateful none of them could reach her as one of the horses tied nearby tried to bite her, his ears pinned back and warning her to keep her distance from him.
She flicked her golden ears as she heard a few of the horses she had came here with being unloaded and led into their own pens. Only one was led into the pen she was in. She realized they were sorting them. The young foals were in one, the older, ridable horses in another. Stallions were being kept tied securely to railings outside the pens. She nickered as she saw her half brother being led over to the rail, a safe distance from the others.
Someone reached over the fence to pet her, and she nudged their hand affectionatly, pleading with her eyes for the person to have mercy on her, to take her somewhere safe.
